Sandblasting
Sandblasting, also called abrasive blasting, involves using air pressure to force small, abrasive particles at a surface at high speed to clean it of any foreign materials. Apart from cleaning purposes, it is also used to remove old paint and prepare the surface before applying a new finish. Crosslink South Powder Coating offers sandblasting for various applications throughout various industries.
Why Sandblast?
Why Sandblast?
Abrasive blasting uses compressed air or water to direct a high-velocity stream of an abrasive material to clean an object or surface, remove burrs, apply a texture, or prepare a surface for painting. Abrasive blasting is more commonly known as sandblasting since silica sand is commonly used as an abrasive.
The effect abrasive blasting has on a surface is similar to using sandpaper. Still, it provides a much more even finish, ready for polish or powder coating application, with no problems at corners or crannies. The process is suitable for cleaning commercial equipment or even stripping the paint from a vehicle, with a range of suitable materials for most surfaces.
